Reiki is a cutting-edge, stress-releasing energy practice that enables your entire system to release distracting layers of physical, mental, and/or emotional tension.

It has long been known that we possess resources we habitually fail to use. Reiki helps you break that habit and realign with those resources in your
mind, body and spirit.
I felt a layer of stress leave my system, like a wave of tension being released.

Signs we are out of alignment:
-
We don’t have enough energy to keep up with our busy lives.
-
Our perspectives narrow, and daily problems feel much bigger than they actually are.
-
We’re more easily distracted or dissatisfied.
-
Our world feels contracted and we feel weaker.
Evidence -based research
Studies conducted at Harvard and Drexel Universities, along with other leading university hospitals and clinics throughout the world continue to explore its many benefits. These range from accelerating the healing process in countless diseases to enriching overall mental, emotional, and physical wellness.
A powerful restorative process
Reiki replenishes the optimum flow of life-energy throughout your whole physical, mental, and emotional system. The American Hospital Association has ranked Reiki among its top three complementary therapies, and research continues to show how it reduces anxiety and pain.
Reiki was popularized in 1922 by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist monk, and is valued today for its practical applications and wide-ranging effects.
My experience with Lori gave me a chance to learn that my body actually can relax … it was such a calming time and I wanted to stay all day.

How it works
According to University of Minnesota’s Center for Spirituality & Healing:
“Although there is increasing research evidence documenting the effects of Reiki (such as lowered heart rate, blood pressure, and stress hormones; increased immune strength), we have only broad theories as to what causes these effects or the pathways through which the healing occurs.
“The multileveled, rapid response to Reiki suggests a complex process that engages many body systems, simultaneously or in quick succession, shifting the body from domination by the ‘fight or flight’ (stress) response to the relaxation response, and supporting the body's own healing mechanisms.”
What to expect during a session
Reiki sessions last from 60 to 90 minutes. After a brief orientation and review of your interests, concerns and/or goals, you’ll come to rest comfortably on a massage table with only your shoes removed. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing is ideal.

As you relax, our Reiki practitioner will slowly move her hands slightly above your body without touching, except if a light brief touch is indicated.
As Lori gently guides you through the stages of the process, you may notice a variety of sensations including pleasant pulsations, tingling, feelings of releasing pressure or tension, or perhaps nothing other than wonderfully deep relaxation. All you need to do is relax and allow Reiki to soften your energy and regain its natural rhythm and flow.
What most surprises me is how well I respond to Reiki. It’s a new approach for me, and I feel totally transformed. — DC
